How to enable Chrome tabs in Android Lollipop

In Android Lollipop, Google changed the way tabs are handled in Chrome browser. Now, by default, Chrome tabs do not appear within the app. Instead they appear as separate apps in the Overview which also displays other recently used apps. Although, Google thinks that it is better to have tabs as separate apps, but you might not feel so. It's easy to get lost within recent apps and tabs. Thankfully there's a simple remedy to this problem. All you have to do is open Google Chrome and head to Settings > Merge tabs and apps. Then just turn off the feature. You will be notified that the tabs will move inside the Chrome app. That's all! You can now switch between tabs in Chrome just like you did in the previous versions of Android.

Google Photos, if you remember, was released in May at the Google I/O 2015 as a stand-alone app. Earlier the Photos app used to be bundled with Google Plus but then Google decided it was better to launch the app as a separate one. If you had given the app a go but decided that it was not for you, then make sure you turn off the auto backup functionality of the app properly or else you might find your phone uploading pictures to the cloud even after you deleted the app. Yes that's true. The app on installation asks whether it will automatically upload new pictures to the service. If you'd chosen to do so then those settings will remain active even after the app is uninstalled from your phone. However the fix to the problem is quite easy. Just open Google Settings from your phone's app drawer, go to the Google Photos Backup tab and sw...

How to Cancel Downloads in Google Chrome for Android

Google Chrome is one of the most popular web browser on Android and Desktop alike. It packs a host of powerful features combined with superior speed that makes it lovable to Android users. But unlike other mobile web browsers, Google Chrome doesn't provide an option to cancel downloads. The downloads in Chrome are directly controlled by the built-in Download Manager within the Android operating system. So, the way around to stop a download in Chrome for Android is to go to Settings and open Apps. Now go to the tab which says All. Scroll down to find Download Manager and tap on it. Touch on Force Stop. The download icon will vanish from the notification bar. Tapping on Clear Data will ensure that the problem doesn't come back again. Was this information helpful?
